Hi Diana,

Thanks for sharing these. Indeed very interesting fusion music.

hahaha.....wondering what inspired them to make Ipoh hor fun as their music creation?

I heard them sang 'yee, er, san, ser'......how come not singing 'yi pau he fen how cher'?.....

Ipoh Hor Fun was written by our guitarist Jamie Wilson in my little maroon Kelisa as we charged up the highway from KL to play at Jazz n Bits in Ipoh. We performed it for the first time in that night in Ipoh. "Ipoh Hor Fun" seemed like the perfect title to give a Chinese flavoured song that was concieved under these conditions.

Jamie sings ee er san sze coz he's a a gwai loh with seriously impared Mandarin abilities.

We're delighted that the good people of Ipoh like our strange and crazy music. Can't wait to see you all again there soon ...

Love from Akasha

Hi Vorrox! Welcome to Ipoh Forum!

Really enjoyed your performance in Penang! Yeayyyy to Jamie for his compositions......Aussie,Aussie,Aussie!!!

When you were wondering what song to do for your encore, I was going to shout "Waltzing Matilda" but I'm glad you did Bamboleo. It was great!

Diana,
Thank you so much for sharing.
AkashA is awesome. I really enjoy that "Ipoh Hor Fun" performance.
Oh, BTW, I believe the group also has a mainland Chinese playing the piano.
OT

Indeed, there is a guy from mainland China in the group. Unfortunately he didn't play in Penang (piano too big to fit in the Kelisa? lol) which was a shame as he is supposed to be very good. He is in the "Ipoh Hor Fun" youtube that was posted.
