Top 'Opposition leader' caught on sex video (Update)

PETALING JAYA: A video showing a man, resembling a top Opposition leader having sex with a woman, believed to be a foreign prostitute, has emerged.

The 30-minute video, which showed the supposedly high profile Member of Parliament in various compromising positions, is set to rock the Malaysian political arena.

The video recorded on Feb 21 was found in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.

Press representatives were taken to a hotel room individually to view the video footage by a group of unknown people led by a person, who only wanted to be known as Datuk T.

Datuk T said he wanted the media to watch the footage showing the politician before sending the copy to him and his wife “to identify the person in the video” a week from now.

He said if the individual in the video was the politician he had identfied to the media, "then he and his wife must step down from politics.”

Datuk T said saying he was not “the pious person with high moral values and integrity as portrayed, and therefore is not fit to be leader.”

Datuk T said if the two did not quit politics, “I will call on several NGOs (non-government organisations) to set up an independent panel to investigate and seek professional forensic services to study the authenticity of the recordings.”

Datuk T claimed he had stumbled upon the video after he was asked by the politician to search for his watch in the room where the sexual encounter had taken place.

“As I could not find the watch on the table, I searched for it behind the dresser. I was shocked to find many strands of wires behind the dresser.

“On close inspection, I found four well-hidden CCTV cameras, I tried to open the two dresser drawers and found one was locked.

“I prised open the locked drawer using a sharp object. I found an active CCTC recorder. I disconnected the wiring and took the recorder out of the hotel,’’ he said, adding that no one had the recording except him.

“I will not hand over copies to any quarters for fear of reproduction and distribution,’’ he said.

Members of the media including The Star viewed the video clip on a computer at the hotel room, where Datuk T was heavily guarded. The Star journalist was searched and had his mobile phone taken away before being allowed to view the video. The other members of the media included those from Bernama, New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia, China Press, the Internet portals, foreign news agencies and at least one opposition organ.

The video clip had sharp images and the woman appeared to be a fair-skinned foreigner, possibly an East Asian.

Meanwhile, with talk of the video having surfaced, PKR communications director Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad tweeted, saying the video was doctored

Pakatan denies man in sex video is Anwar
By Shannon Teoh and Asrul Hadi Abdullah SaniMarch 21, 2011

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders have denied that the man in a sex video that emerged today is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“This is a doctored video of Anwar,” said PKR communications director Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

A video recording showing a man who resembles a senior Malay opposition leader having sex with a woman believed to be a prostitute from China emerged today.

The 21-minute-long recording was shown to members of the media by a man who only identified himself as Datuk T.

Datuk T said that the February 21 video was from closed-circuit television camera recordings found in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.

“It is not Datuk Seri Anwar. This is another attempt by Barisan Nasional to give the public a perception of him as being an immoral person that is incapable of leading the nation,” PAS political bureau member Khalid Samad told The Malaysian Insider.

PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang also claimed that Barisan Nasional (BN) has become desperate, “shifting from major issues such as elections and policies to personal attacks.”

During the screening this morning, Datuk T said he wanted the media to watch the footage showing the politician before sending the copy to him and his wife “to identify the person in the video” a week from now.

“We don’t want to involve the government in any of this. If he and his wife do not resign, then we will call for an independent panel of NGOs to conduct a forensic investigation into the video,” he said after the video was screened.

The black-and-white video was shown in several parts, beginning with the politician, a woman with East Asian features, and another unidentified man in a hotel room.

The second part, recorded from four slightly different angles, showed the man receiving oral sex from the woman and then having sexual intercourse with her in several positions.

The sex acts lasted 17 minutes before the man exited to the right, which seemed to be where the bathroom was.

The woman, after wiping herself with some tissue, then rummaged through the politician’s belongings, fishing out what Datuk T said was an Omega watch.

Datuk T said the person who found the video, only identified in a statement as “The Insider,” was instructed to head back to the hotel to look for the watch after the politician had left the hotel.

“Upon close inspection, I found four well-hidden CCTV cameras,” The Insider was quoted as saying in a statement which alleged that Anwar was the man in the video.

Datuk T also showed an Omega watch to reporters, claiming that it was the watch that had been reclaimed by his group of accomplices, who also did not identify themselves.

Guan Eng: Ignore sex tape
By Melissa Chi
March 21, 2011

Lim said the anonymity of the accusation robbed it off credibility. — file picKUALA LUMPUR, March 21 — Lim Guan Eng today dismissed the emergence of a sex tape purportedly involving a senior Malay opposition politician, and said that such anonymous accusations did not merit attention.

The DAP secretary-general emphasised that the person who showed the recording the media had insisted on not being named.

According to Lim, this showed the person did not dare take responsibility over the allegation.

“Where does the authority come from? Should we waste our time on this type of matters when we do not know even the source that it came from? Even when you know the source of where it comes from, do you know whether it’s true or not?” the Penang chief minister said.

When asked if he would consult top leaders from Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to clear the matter, he stressed again that the allegations lacked credibility.

The Bagan MP then urged the anonymous accuser to step into the open for having made these “serious allegations”.

Earlier today, a video recording showing a man resembling a senior Malay opposition leader having sex with a woman believed to be a foreign prostitute from China had emerged.

The 21-minute-long recording was shown to members of the media by a man who only identified himself as Datuk T.

He said that the February 21 video was from closed-circuit television camera recordings found in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.

Lim said the way the allegation had surfaced cast doubt on its authenticity.

“If it’s true, you will have somebody substantial from BN (Barisan Nasional) coming out, isn’t it?” said Lim.

Showing porn video to public is legal ?

Nazri says sex video may be legal

By Shannon Teoh
March 22, 2011

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 — Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said today that the screening of the sex video allegedly showing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim having sex with a Chinese prostitute may not have been illegal despite laws barring pornography.

“It depends on what the purpose is. They wanted to show proof that Anwar had sex with this woman, not to make a pornographic video,” said the minister in the prime minister's department.

The de facto law minister said that “if they were screening it to reporters with the intention to have witnesses, or to have on record people who can corroborate what they say, then it is not against the law.”

Opposition leader Anwar had lodged a police report earlier today and told reporters later that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein were involved in what he says was a an attack on him and Pakatan Rakyat (PR).

“These individuals have committed all forms of crime — criminal defamation, intimidation, and the viewing of pornography in public.

“My proof of high-level involvement is that why no action was taken by the police on this? How can porn be displayed publicly? It’s protection by the police,” he said.

Section 292(a) of the Penal Code prohibits the production, sale, rental, distribution and public circulation of any obscene book, pamphlet, paper, drawing, painting, representation or
object.

Nazri had also pointed out that the screening was not for money or commercial purposes.

“If you are collecting money and have a show without a licence, then it’s an illegal blue movie. We all know that the intention is to report to the police and he just wanted to have witnesses,” the Padang Rengas MP said.

Anwar yesterday denied that he was the man in the video after the video was screened to selected journalists by a shadowy figure who only identified himself as “Datuk T”.

“Datuk T” had said that the video was taken from closed-circuit television camera recordings found in a hotel room in Kuala

Talking Open letter: Keen to screen porn at Carcosa Seri Negara

By Maniam

To: The manager, Carcosa Seri Negara
Dear Sir,

I am minded to start a business of screening videos to select crowds at your esteemed hotel on a regular basis.

You may have read the law minister say that screening at your hotel is not illegal even if it is a porn video.

As I expect to screen a variety of 'arty' videos, which may well include porn and prominent people, I feel your hotel would add a touch of 'class'.

In the interests of art and democratic space, could you please reply through this channel on your rates and conditions to reach the widest audience.

It is my desire to see premier establishments like yours help grow our culture in all its forms.

Please reply early so that we aspiring talents can join Dato T to take a great new cultural leap.

Thank you.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 —

Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik admitted today that businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay, Perkasa’s Datuk Shuib Lazim and himself were collectively the mysterious “Datuk T” behind Monday’s screening of a sex video allegedly featuring Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The former Malacca chief minister also admitted that both he and Shazryl were behind the video.

He told reporters at a joint press conference together with Shazryl that they wanted to show that “a person who wants to be national leader and PM was not qualified.”

Abdul Rahim also said that PKR Sungai Petani MP Datuk Johari Abdul had demanded money to defect after the latter was shown the video on Monday afternoon.

The former Malacca CM also urged Putrajaya to set up a royal commission to investigate the authenticity of the video.

Johari had suggested earlier today that businessman Shazryl was the mysterious “Datuk T”, and that Abdul Rahim was among those behind the screening of a sex video.

Johari also accused the two men of attempting to entice him and other PKR MPs to defect after he had viewed the recording, which he said was of a person who only vaguely resembled Anwar.

According to Johari, Abdul Rahim had also promised to bring him to see Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak after he had viewed the sex video.

Anwar has already accused Najib of being directly involved with the screening of the sex video.

Kit Siang calls for fair treatment

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP Ipoh Timor MP Lim Kit Siang is claiming that double standards are being applied to the sex video targeting Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said if the target had been the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister or any Cabinet member, the full force of the law would have come down on “Datuk T” without having to wait for a police report to be lodged.

Lim said the person would instantly be arrested for a variety of crimes, including Section 292 of the Penal Code for “publicly exhibiting any obscene or pornographic material”, which was liable to three years’ jail; or Section 5(1) of the Film Censorship Act 2002, where he would be liable to be fined up to RM50,000 or jailed up to five years or both.

“Why then the double standards by the police in the Carcosa sex tape caper?” asked Lim in a press statement in Parliament yesterday.

“If there is nothing legally wrong with the sex tape, as claimed by de facto Law Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, what then is the police investigating following the report lodged by Anwar?” he asked.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Nazri had said that there was nothing illegal in the revelation of the sex video.
