Video encoding/decoding

Let say I hv a movie that last up to 5 mins. I found that the starting part first min is just an introducion and the last 1 min is only casting.

I would like to shorten the time and reduce the size as well but in the meantime remain the quality.

Anyone can recommend me any software can make this? I mean into really fast.

What format is that movie clip ?

Try to google using this phrase:

" format_name + editor "

i.e. "mpeg+editor"

It's a DAT, vcd file.

Try MovieMaker, Adobe Premier, Pinackle Studio and VirtualDub.
