Amidst Sellouts, Google Debuts First Nexus 7 Commercial
Google kicked off its Nexus 7 marketing campaign with a new commercial that tugs at the heartstrings.
Dubbed "Camping," the minute-long video (below) follows a father-son duo venturing through the woods, with the convenience of technology just a finger-swipe away.
So what exactly can you accomplish with a Nexus 7 tablet if ever you find yourself completely bored with your wilderness buddies? According to the commercial, there are a host of activities, including stored movies, books, and games.
The team also navigates through the trees and searches Google Earth locations on the tablet, which can double as a 7-inch flashlight for those late-night trips to the outhouse. The device, however, lacks the healing power to fix a scraped knee, seemingly its only drawback.
While the Wi-Fi-only tablet won't get you too far in the actual outback, Google really wants you to know that it can provide hours of fun, and light packing, if you're camping close to home.
Based on its first-weekend sales, Google doesn't even need to invest in a promotional campaign to sell its tablet, having cleared out shipments in its first two days of availability.
