Default Ipoh Auto City

New Ipoh Auto City coming up near Ipoh
BY MAZNI MUSTAFA

IPOH: Bandar Meru Raya, a new township that is now being developed as Perak's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) hub, will soon become a centre for automotive retail trade as well.
Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali said a 5ha site at the township has been alienated to build Ipoh Auto City, which would bring dealers and operators in the auto business under one-roof.
He said the centre located along the North-South Expressway near Jelapang here would become a major 'crowd puller', hence boosting economic activities at the new township.
The project between PCB Development and LS Associates (SEA) Sdn Bhd was the second in the country after the one in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, he said.
Speaking after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two companies at the Perak Techno Trade Centre here on Monday, Tajol Rosli said a car museum for vintage cars would also be built there.
The vintage cars, belonging to royalty and VIPs, would also be put up for rent for use on special occasions, he said.
"We hope Ipoh Auto City will become one of the must-visit stopovers for those travelling along the highway," he added.
Tajol Rosli said other development plans in the pipeline was a 'Shoes City' with the relocating of 400 shoemakers in Menglembu to the township.
"A huge food court complex selling all kinds of Ipoh's best food will also be built there," he said.
Another project would be a wholesale outlet similar to the Nilai 3 in Negri Sembilan, he said.
LS Associates chairman Tan Sri Adzmi Wahab said the Ipoh Auto City could accommodate dealers for all the 35 brands of cars available in the country, adding that it would include showroom space for second hand cars.
Other facilities to be made available are insurance and finance services, car accessories stores, workshops, and counters for Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Puspakom to process the transactions, he said.
"Once operational, one does not need to travel to different locations and be caught up in traffic to check on choices and prices of the cars.
"The facilities we provide at the centre will certainly help to complete all car sales transaction quickly, easily and efficiently, be it first or second hand," said Adzmi. He added the centre would be completed in August next year.

KARS buka cawangan di Ipoh

LS ASSOCIATES (SEA) Sdn Bhd akan membuka pusat jualan kereta mega keduanya, KARS di Ipoh atas tapak 12 hektar bersebelahan laluan lebuh Raya Utara-Selatan dan Plaza Tol Jelapang, di Bandar Meru Raya.

http://avn.innity.com/avnvw.php?camp...1152&n=3822357

Ia disaksikan Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Mohd Tajol Rosli Ghazali.

this is wat we call systematically marginalized of Ipoh folks....chinese dun go to meru and malay dun go to mengelembu. I will say Ipoh won't die one coz chinese ppl still have a lot of shops there. as long as the new gen are willing to take over the family bizz, the famous white coffee and the ever delicious dim sum will remain. it juz that gomen dun like multi racial town call Ipoh. instead they call it meru....mengelembu still has its charm coz we still got a hill over there to climb. other than this dun know wat to do there liao...

If u regard Ipoh as a city, then Ipoh is Ipoh city itself, Bandar Meru Raya is another township, with different poscode... just like menglembu is a town, but all of them are categorized under Kinta district... Just drop by Ipoh on sunday and U'll know what I mean by dead... Think u can cross Hugh Low street st ur pace, not many cars..

oh i c. Actually most of the town in Malaysia are like that, not only Ipoh. Most shops close on sunday n the only place where most ppl visit is shopping mall. Of coz KL may not be the same, but I had visited Penang on Sunday b4, and I feel that the city is pretty quiet on Sunday too.

Default Ipoh is not dead

I'll prefer Ipoh is left virgin untouched by development. Let it stays like that forever. Peaceful and haven for retiree. Slow life for longevity and less heart failure.

I doubt Meru project is anywhere near success. As usual gov project is always 'hangat tahi ayam', somewhere you are talking about Ipoh. It had been under developed for centuries, i dont think i'll see ipoh transform into another klang valley in my life. Maybe next few generations.

Menglembu will not die..... The poeple there are self sufficient, no need gov support.

It's all a legacy scheme with decepticon elements added in. Former Big Minister had Sunway citi, so current Big Minister has Meru Raya. Other than the same old property centric programmes, there really isn;t any better ideas, it seems.
