RABBITS are so last year.

Instead, some Singaporean pet owners are now training their sights on dragons dragonfish, to be sure.

The Year of the Dragon, which begins next Monday, is proving to be a boon for fish farms here, with some reporting a 20 to 30 per cent jump in business.

Qian Hu Fish Farm in Sungei Tengah off Old Choa Chu Kang Road, which has eight varieties of dragonfish, also known as arowana, has seen a 20 per cent jump in sales of the fish, which can go for anywhere between $300 to $8,000.

More in The New Paper on Wednesday (Jan 18).
