RABBITS are so last year.
Instead, some Singaporean pet owners are now training their sights on dragons – dragonfish, to be sure.
The Year of the Dragon, which begins next Monday, is proving to be a boon for fish farms here, with some reporting a 20 to 30 per cent jump in business.
Qian Hu Fish Farm in Sungei Tengah off Old Choa Chu Kang Road, which has eight varieties of dragonfish, also known as arowana, has seen a 20 per cent jump in sales of the fish, which can go for anywhere between $300 to $8,000.
