Default Teaching in Malaysia

Hi

I've been teaching in Japan for the last 10 years and I have been thinking about a change of scenery, and was wondering if there were any teaching job opportunities in Ipoh.

In Japan, I've worked in 'English Conversation' schools, but now mostly teach Business English and Business Skill at multinational corporations, TOEIC, and running Presentation Skills and Meetings training seminars.

Thanks.

Do not think your type of skill is in high demand here. Most people, in private sector, can speak, write n understand English quite well.

That's a shame for me. I quite fancied the idea of working in Ipoh for a few years. Maybe I can find something else which matches my skills.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I only check in here occasionally.

I've checked a few of the more well known teaching sites like elscafe, but I've yet to find something in Ipoh. A lot of the work in Malaysia seems to be teaching kids in state schools - something I'm not overly keen on as I know what kids are like and it's not my field of expertise.

If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them.

I was actually hoping to be in Malaysia last autumn, but due to unforeseen circumstances I won't be heading out until June this year at the earliest. I'll be holidaying in Ipoh (looking at caves, eating, going to Jusco, looking at caves, eating, um, going to Tesco, think I've seen all the caves though) and as I'll be there I can try and find a job in Malaysia or Singapore. It'll be easier for me to get an interview if I'm in the country rather than me saying I'll fly over or do it over Skype.

Well your skills are not doing very well in the market and this is the only thing that you need to know. But you can try to teach the children and i think that this will be helpful to you.
