AirAsia Bhd: The low-fare carrier's Thai venture Thai AirAsia Co said it's filling fewer seats so far this month because of soccer's World Cup and the rainy season.

The low-fare airline venture with Shin Corp of Thailand filled about 70% of seats with paying passengers so far in June. That compares with the monthly average 80% load factor from January to May this year.

Malayan Banking Bhd is seeking a tie-up with Singapore's No 2 stock broker, Kim Eng Holdings Ltd, to boost its regional business, the Star reported on June 24, citing people it didn't identify. The bank has also evaluated the possibility of acquiring a stake in RHB Bank, a unit of Malaysia's fourth-largest banking group,

RHB Capital Bhd, in competition with 2 overseas rivals, the newspaper said.


Paramount Corp said it agreed to buy 15 pieces of land totaling about 576 acres in northern Kedah state for RM38.9m (US$10.6m) cash.

Plastrade Technology Bhd, the Johor Bahru-based manufacturer of polyethylene compounds for wires and cables said the Securities Commission has rejected its plan to buy 97% of Shanghai Quasar Polymer Technology Co for RM12.2m. The regulator cited conflict of interest and reservations on the purchase price as its reasons.

PPB Oil Palms Bhd said Newday Holdings Ltd, a wholly owned unit, accepted a US$100m Committed Transferable Unsecured Revolving Credit Facility from Bumiputra-Commerce Bank (L) Ltd to fund its capital expenditures and for working capital.

Proton Holdings Bhd will release a new model using Mitsubishi Motors Corp's components and technology in April next year, Osamu Masuko, president at the Tokyo-based carmaker, said on June 23. Mitsubishi Motors and Proton are in the final stage of formally forming a partnership after reaching a basic agreement in February, Masuko said.

Ekowood International Bhd is targeting a 30% profit growth for the current financial year and high teens over the next three years that will be driven by better market penetration and higher production efficiencies, said its chief executive officer Tan Aik Sim. Hesaid the company's overall growth in terms of overseas market penetration had been good over the last six to seven years, and expected demand from Europe and US for Ekowood's products to increase.

TSH Resources Bhd expects double-digit profit growth for the current financial year and is optimistic that it will even surprise analysts, said its group managing director Datuk Kelvin Tan Aik Pen. He said the main drivers for the company this year would be higher operational efficiencies at its biomass divisions and Indonesian operations. Tan also said the company expected its new refinery in Kunak, Sabah which will be up and running by year-end to start generating healthy contribution to its 2007 earnings, in addition to its four palm oil mills.

Wah Seong Corporation Bhd (WSC), a pipe-coating service provider for the oil and gas industry, is looking at strengthening its non-oil and gas division by venturing into growth sectors such as environment and agro-based engineering. Its managing director and chief executive officer Chan Cheu Leong said the firm had recently acquired a new subsidiary, which will see it venturing into the business of "e-disposal" and extraction of precious metals from electronic scraps. "We are looking at allocating between RM18m and RM20m for the construction of the new plant located in Bayan Lepas, which should be operational by October 2006,"
Chan said after the company's AGM in Penang on June 23. "The plant, which will stand on a 1.21ha piece of land, will be the first in Malaysia to use high-tech equipment to process and break down electronic waste like motherboards, computer chips as well as telephones," he said. Chan said the technology employed in the upcoming plant was from their partners in South Africa, but declined to comment further on the matter.
In line with the government's aspiration to become a developed nation by 2020, Bursa Malaysia too aspires to evolve into a more developed market within the next 14 years. With this in mind, it has teamed up with London's Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) to create a more attractive trading platform, the FTSE-Bursa Malaysia (FTSE-BM) Index Series, which would make Malaysia a more viable place for investment by foreign entities. The three benchmark indices are the FTSE-BM Emas Index, FTSE-BM Small Cap Index and FTSE-BM Fledgling Index. The three tradeable indices are the FTSE-BM 100 Index, FTSE-BM Large 30 Index and FTSE-BM Mid 70 Index. "Global investors are asking for more. Previously they were happy with capitalisation benchmark. Now they are asking for more in terms of free float and liquidity," Bursa Malaysia chief operation officer, Omar Merican told Bernama in an interview.

Yesterday's market:

The KLCI closed at 904.51 (-1.83 points, -0.20%) with volume/value at 524m shares / RM671m. A total of 257 counters were up vs 412 down. Local front, players are still reluctant to take in new positions even though Bursa Malaysia on June 26 unveiled Phase One of the new FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series. Six new indices began to be tracked from this morning. They are FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Index, FTSE Bursa Malaysia Large 30 Index, FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index, FTSE Bursa Malaysia 100 Index, FTSE Bursa Malaysia Small Cap Index and FTSE Bursa Malaysia Fledgling Index. Each of the indices starts from a base of 6,000. Overseas market, Asian markets closed mostly mixed while waiting for Fed Reserves to announce on possible rate hike on the 29th June.

In the currency market, the Ringgit was trading at RM3.6825/US$.

He said Mulpha International would continue with the resort-type of development which the company had been focusing on over the past few years.

Golden Hope Plantations Bhd has started the country's first commercial production of biodiesel at its plant in Teluk Panglima Garang with the capacity to produce 30,000 tonnes of renewable energy supply annually.
The biodiesel produced at the plant would be exported to markets such as China, India, South Korea, Japan and Europe, Golden Hope Plantations group chief executive Datuk Sabri Ahmad told a press conference, here Tuesday. He said Golden Hope will dispatch its first shipment of between 2,000 and 3,000 tonnes of biodiesel (Palm Methyl Esther) to Japan in August under a short term contract with a buyer in the country.

Sabri said Golden Hope's biodiesel plant in Pulau Carey, Kuala Langat would start its production early next year.


Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, who has been appointed as director of Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Bhd (BCHB) effective Tuesday, will assume the post of chairman of BCHB on July 31. Md Nor, a director of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, will also be appointed as director of CIMB Group on July 1 and will assume the post of chairman of CIMBG on July 31, BCHB said in a statement Tuesday. The statement said Tan Sri Mohd Desa Pachi will retire as BCHB chairman effective July 31. He was appointed to the Board of BCHB as chairman on Sept 3, 1982.

Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop today said that there was "nothing wrong" with the offer made by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to buy Utama Banking Group's (UBG) 32.9 per cent stake in Rashid Hussain Bhd. Noting that EPF has excess fund of RM270 billion, he said: "As long as the EPF has the right expertise to run the bank, it should not be a problem." UBG announced to Bursa Malaysia on Monday that it had received a written conditional offer from EPF to acquire all the shares and irredeemable convertible unsecured loan stock A and B (RHB ICULS) in RHB held by UBG as at April 14, 2006.

Oilcorp Bhd has granted its subsidiary OilFab Sdn Bhd a financial assistance of RM100 million for the latter’s improvement, expansion and maintenance of fabrication yard, working capital and corporate guarantee. Of the RM100 million, RM 25 million would be for its fabrication yard capital expenditure, RM25 million for working capital and the remainder of RM50 million as a corporate guarantee for future bank borrowings or other loans. OilFab’s chief executive officer and managing director Mohamed Hazali Abu Hassan said the financial allocation would help strengthen its fabrication yard’s facilities and capacities to a higher degree.

Ramunia Holdings Bhd has secured a contract each from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd and Talisman Malaysia Ltd totalling RM72 million involving the fabrication and installation of platforms. The contract from Petronas Carigali involved jacket transportation, lifting and installation, pipeline fabrication and installation valued at US$16 million (RM58 million).
Nepline Bhd plans to acquire a double-hulled Aframax tanker of 80,000 deadweight tonnes (dwt) to 105,000 dwt costing US$50 million (RM184 million) under its fleet renewal exercise. Nepline executive chairman Datuk Nik Mohd Zain Omar said on June 27 that "a single vessel of that size will contribute 60% to our current revenue and earnings" equivalent with four coastal tankers".

Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Bhd said its CIMB Group Sdn Bhd unit set up an Islamic investment firm with Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Holdings of Bahrain to expand services and tap demand in the Persian Gulf. The new company, CIMB-KANOO Islamic Investment Co. BSC, will offer Islamic investment banking, corporate financial services and Islamic debt financing, it said.


Iris Corp said it issued as many as 55.3m warrants to shareholders who have subscribed to a rights offer in May. The warrants can be converted to ordinary shares at an exercise price of 15 sen a share, the company said.

Ingress Corp has completed the purchase of a 49% stake in Maju Nusa Sdn.

Malaysian Airline System Bhd will sell its office building in downtown Kuala Lumpur for RM130m (US$35m) to Permodalan Nasional Bhd., a state-run asset manager. The carrier will post a one-time gain of RM46m from the sale and boost its earnings per share by 4 sen for the year ending December. Malaysian Airline expects to narrow its loss this year to RM620m from RM1.26b in 2005.

Petaling Tin Bhd shareholders have approved its planned purchase of a parcel of leasehold land in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, for RM38m.

PLUS Expressways Bhd said its Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan Bhd. unit has reported an increase of 0.7% in traffic volume to1m passenger car units per kilometer in May from a year earlier.
SMR Technologies Bhd said its SMR HR Technologies Sdn unit bought an office suite in the country's capital from Malaysian Resources Corp. (MRC MK) for RM2.1m. It used part of the proceeds from its initial public offering to fund the purchase, the company said.

Inti Universal Holdings Bhd, whose focus has been in tertiary education, is looking into diversifying into private secondary school education, its chairman Datuk Dr Zawawi Ismail said. “We are in discussions on the secondary school project with potential partners. We may look at a jointly-developed secondary school"

KNM Group Bhd is investing RM70m this year to increase its production capacity to meet growing demand from the oil and gas sector for its processing equipment. Its managing director Lee Swee Eng said the investment was for expanding the capacity at its Dubai plant, upgrading its China operations and funding the setting up of the long-mooted manufacturing facility in Brazil.
Petronas has started crude oil production from its Block 5A in Sudan, operated by White Nile (5B) Operating Company Ltd, a partnership between Petronas (68.875%) ONGC Videsh Ltd of India (24.125%) and Sudapet of Sudan (8.0%). Current production rate from the Thar Jath field is expected to stabilise at about 20,000 barrels per day (BPD), before gradually rising to 60,000 BPD by the end of this year. The partners have made provisions to increase the capacity to 150,000 BPD, said Petronas in a statement today.

Amtek Holdings Bhd plans to sell a leasehold site and an industrial building in Penang for RM400,000 (US$108,000) to Jeeson Electrical Engineering Sdn Bhd.


Bursa Malaysia Bhd said there has been no further development in the effort to develop the commodities and futures markets in Malaysia and India since a memorandum of understanding between the company and the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. was signed on March 30.
Quality Concrete Holdings Bhd said it bought a remaining 30% stake in Seri Bumijaya Sdn. It earlier acquired 70% on May 9. The company will use the money it generates from its business to fund the acquisition.

Ramunia Holdings Bhd said net income more than doubled to RM5.1m in the second quarter ended April 30 from a year earlier, driven by higher sales
generated from its oil and gas division. Sales gained 32% to RM51.6m.

Sapura Resources Bhd said the foreign investment committee has approved its proposal to acquire a 100% stake in Sapura VC Sdn Bhd from Sapura Holdings Sdn Bhd and transfer land and building assets to Sapura VC upon the completion of the acquisition.

Techfast Holdings Bhd has formed a joint-venture company (JV) with two individuals to manufacture and sell self-clinching fasteners (SCFs), specialised turned parts and electronic hardware. The company told Bursa Malaysia on June 29 that the venture was part of its expansion plan to become a leading manufacturer of SCFs in the Asean region. Techfast said it had entered into a shareholder’s agreement with Li Chih-Li and Chusri Kornkasame to form the JV, in which Techfast holds a 55% stake while Li and Chusri 25% and 20% respectively.


Petroliam Nasional Bhd posted an all-time record revenue of RM166.9b in its year ended March 31, 2006 (FY06), up 22% from RM137.05b in the previous year, amid soaring oil prices. The year also saw the national petroleum company turning in a record pre-tax profit of RM70.2b, a 20.9% rise from the previous year, while net profit rose 23% to RM43.59b. The better results in FY06 were due to higher sales in refined petroleum products and crude oil and condensates, as well as liquefied natural gas and petrochemical products, marginally offset by the strengthening ringgit.

Construction-based TSR Capital Bhd is exploring the possibility of venturing overseas and has initiated talks with players in the Middle East, India and Thailand to bid for township and infrastructures projects. TSR managing director Tengku Datuk Mustapha Tengku Mohamad said the three markets would be its first few overseas ventures if any of the projects materialised.
KUB Malaysia Bhd expects to raise RM200m via the disposal of non-core assets, including its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, under a strategic blueprint for business transformation unveiled to shareholders on June 29. Speaking to shareholders at its AGM, KUB chief executive officer Izham Yusoff said KUB would be able to reduce losses by about RM13 million annually by selling loss-making concerns.

Tanjung Offshore Bhd, via its wholly owned subsidiary, Tanjung Kapal Services Sdn Bhd has signed a two-year charter contract with Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for two of its Straight Supply Vessels (SSVs), MV Tanjung Pinang 1 and MV Tanjung Pinang 2, for RM38 million. The contract, which has an extension option of another year, would be effective from Sept 1, for MV Tanjung Pinang 1 and Sept 30 for MV Tanjung Pinang 2. The SSVs are to be sub-chartered to Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd offshore operations in Malaysia..

BIMB Holdings Bhd said Dubai Investment Group LLC plans to pay 828.2 million ringgit ($225 million) for a 40 percent stake in the lender's Bank Islam unit.

Dubai Financial LLC, a unit of United Arab Emirates-based Dubai Investment, will buy 690.2 million shares at 1.2 ringgit each. Lembaga Tabung Haji, Malaysia's Pilgrim's Fund, will acquire a 9 percent stake in the bank for about 186.4 million ringgit.


Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd director, Syed Zainol Anwar Syed Putra Jamalullail has been named chairman of the company. He replaces Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib, who becomes a non-executive director.

Golden Hope Plantations Bhd has signed a four-year research and development agreement with Netherlands-based NIZO Food Research BV The company will provide Golden Hope with research facilities.
KL Infrastructure Group Bhd fourth-quarter loss ended April 30 narrowed to 23.3 million ringgit from 24.7 million ringgit after higher sales countered the rising cost of its loans.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd plans to spend about 180 million ringgit to upgrade facilities and services at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport this year, the Star reported.

Media Prima Bhd said it may list its Ghana television unit as early as the end of the year or early next year. It hasn't submitted any regulatory application as yet, it said.

MISC Bhd is in talks with a Chinese shipyard to order nine tankers to transport palm oil, TradeWinds reported on June 30. The vessels will each have a capacity of 19,000 deadweight tons, the newspaper said in its weekly edition. MISC wants to take advantage of the lack of investment in the vegetable-oil shipping market, the report said.

Megan Media Holdings Bhd said its net income in the fourth quarter rose 17 percent from a year earlier to 23.47 million ringgit. Sales gained 21 percent to 322.68 million ringgit.

Mycom Bhd said it has agreed to sell its entire stake in Mycom South Africa (Proprietary) Ltd. to Amaraka Investments (Proprietary) Ltd. for 499,900 ringgit.
Sunway City Bhd said its Platinum Success Sdn. unit has secured two term loans totaling 132 million ringgit from two domestic banks. The loans will be used to
partly finance the construction and completion of Monash University Sunway Campus Malaysia in Selangor, outside of the capital.

Equine Capital Bhd’s (ECB) subsidiary, Exceed Concept Sdn Bhd (ECSB), has been appointed by Abad Naluri Sdn Bhd (ANSB) to develop an international equestrian centre in Penang in a deal worth RM375 million.

ANSB is an associate of Taman Equine (M) Sdn Bhd (TESB), which in turn is the wholly-owned subsidiary of ECB. The equestrian centre, to be called Penang International Equestrian Centre (PIEC), will be located on a parcel of 300-acre land at Batu Kawan, Seberang Perai, Penang.


LCL Corporation Bhd's associated company in Dubai, LCL Interiors LLC has received a second letter of acceptance from CSHK Dubai Contracting (LLC) for sub-contract works worth RM49.24 million.

Mudajaya Group Bhd via its joint venture (JV) company Mudajaya-BSBK has secured a 52.5 crore Indian rupees (RM42 million) road upgrading job from the Public Works Department, Chhattisgarh, India. Under the deal, Mudajaya-BSBK would undertake the proposed rehabilitation and upgrading of Kumhari to Bemetera Section in Chhattisgarh under “Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Various Roads under Phase I of Chhattisgarh State Road Sector Development Project”, within 24 months.

Rohas-Euco Industries Bhd has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Lao government for a hydroelectric power project at Xiengkhoung province for export to neighbouring countries and domestic use. It said the project, with estimated cost of US$60 million (RM218 million) to US$70 million, would involve the construction of a dam, power tunnel, power house and transmission lines.

AmInvestment Group Bhd said the Ministry of Finance has approved its proposal to transform its AmMerchant Bank Bhd. unit into an investment bank. and operate under the name of AmInvestment Bank Bhd.AmMerchant will also acquire the assets and liabilities of stockbroking unit AmSecurities Sdn.

Kobay Technology Bhd has reduced its stake in Polytool Systems Sdn. to 85 percent from 100 percent.

Aseambankers Malaysia Bhd, an investment banking unit of Malayan Banking Bhd., the nation's biggest lender, appointed Surachet Chaipatamanont, who is also the head of investment banking at the parent, as its chief executive officer and director, Aseambankers said in a faxed statement yesterday.

Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd said the Ministry of Finance has approved a proposal to set up an investment bank by its Utama Merchant Bank Bhd. unit.

Ranhill Bhd has signed a power purchase agreement with Sabah Electricity Sdn. for a planned 190,000 megawatt gas-fired power project in Sabah. SEG International Bhd said it plans to sell two properties in Petaling Jaya for a total of 12 million ringgit.

AIC Corp said its AIC Semiconductor Sdn. unit will assemble and test semiconductor chip packages for South Korean companies Samsung Electronics Co and KEC Corp. The contract may generate revenue of about RM25m (US$6.8m) for the first year starting July 1, it said.


AmFirst Property Trust Bhd said it has completed the acquisition of freehold land and a building in Selangor, outside of the Kuala Lumpur capital, from Merais Sdn Bhd for RM57m.

Dialog Group Bhd said its Dialog Systems Sdn Bhd unit has formed a joint venture with Johnson Matthey Plc, the world's largest distributor of platinum-group metals, to market and supply instrumentation products for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry in Asian countries including India and South Korea.

DKLS Industries Bhd said its DKLS-PJI Venture Capital Sdn Bhd unit plans to sell its entire stake in Zhangzhou Jinfeng Water Works Co for RM18.3m to Fujian Ming Nan Economic Development Co. The sale is expected to earn the company a ``very good return,'' which will help it pare debt, it said.

EON Capital Bhd said its Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Bhd unit has received approval from the Ministry of Finance to transform itself and its EONCAP Securities Sdn Bhd unit into an investment bank. Malaysian International must complete the implementation within one year from the date of approval, it said.

Green Packet Bhd said US money manager Legg Mason Inc. bought 12m shares in the company from various investors including its director Puan Chan Cheong. Puan Chan sold 6.99m shares at RM2.625 a share to Legg Mason.

Petra Perdana Bhd said it plans a bonus offer of 67.7m new shares on the basis of 1 new share for every 3 held.

SP Setia Bhd said its Setia Promenade Sdn Bhd unit plans to acquire about 21.5 acres of freehold land in Penang for RM36m. The purchase is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and cash flow'' of the company, it said.
Tanjung Offshore Bhd said its Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn Bhd unit has received a purchase order from Ramunia Fabricators Sdn Bhd for the supply of a water injection system valued at RM5m. Works on the system are expected to be completed by the end of August.

Glomac Bhd said its Glomac Australia Pty unit plans to buy an office building in Melbourne for A$30.5m (US$22.7m).


Ge-Shen Corp said it plans to set up a new unit, Ge-Shen (Vietnam) Co., to carry out plastic injection molding and processing in Vietnam. It plans to spend US$2.7m through a cash injection and a transfer of existing machinery to its Vietnamese unit. The investment will ``enhance long-term earnings and diversify the company's manufacturing base,'' it said.

Hexagon Holdings Bhd said its Hexagon Tower Sdn Bhd unit has won a contract from an oil and gas company in Labuan for RM25m.

Lion Forest Industries Bhd which is selling its pulp and paper mill for RM944.8m, plans to return RM252.2m to its shareholders in a capital distribution plan. Lion Forest may also use RM403.1m for an investment related to its businesses that it's evaluating.

Ranhill Bhd said its asset purchase agreement for a Philippine power plant ``remains valid,'' even after the Philippine government said on July 2 it canceled the power plant sale after Ranhill didn't pay a US$227.5m installment on June 30. The company said it had requested for a revision of the closing date for the installment payment to Sept. 30 from June 30. It didn't receive ``any official response'' on the revision date, or an intention to cancel the sale of the Masinloc power plant, or the
call for a fresh bid.

Taliworks Corp said its Air Kedah Sdn. unit has won a contract to design and build a water-supply system in the northern Kedah state for RM149m. The project is expected to be completed by February 2009.

KNM Group Bhd is acquiring a 90% stake in Virgo Pulse Sdn Bhd group (VPSB), a maker of industrial boilers, for RM27.5m cash in a strategic partnership deal that will allow it to expand into new industrial sectors such as power, palm oil and biomass. In a statement on July 5, KNM said it had signed a memorandum of agreement with Tang Vee Mun to register the intention of both KNM and shareholders of VPSB, Tang and Datuk Ghazali Mat Ariff to jointly develop VPSB group's business. It will fund the proposed acquisition via internal funds and borrowings.

Property developer Bandar Raya Developments Bhd (BRDB) saw 47m shares done off-market at RM57.34m or at an average price of RM1.22. The shares represented a 9.87% stake, according to stock market data. The share price closed one sen lower at RM1.21 When contacted, BRDB chief executive officer Datuk Jaganath Sabapathy said that considering the number of shares involved, it could have been disposed of by major shareholders such as Datuk Mohamed Moiz JM Ali Moiz, Magnum Corporation Bhd and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). As at April 28, 2006, Moiz owned 29.19% or 139.07m shares via Ambang Sehati Sdn Bhd. The second largest shareholder was Magnum Corporation, which owned 8.82% or 42.02 million shares, and the EPF 6.55% or 31.2
million shares.

1.OilCorp Bhd’s unit has secured a RM110 million contract from Plant Biofuels Corporation Sdn Bhd to build a 100,000 tonnes biodiesel plant.Oil-Line Engineering & Associates Sdn Bhd had received the letter of award to undertake the procurement, construction, commissioning and management aspects of the project.Plant Biofuels is in the midst of finalising the location for the project.


2.WCT Engineering Bhd said the contract price for construction of the Bahrain City Centre has been slashed to RM1.28 billion from an initial lump sum entry price of about RM1.56 billion after taking into account the impact of the value engineering exercises and the omission of certain works. WCT said its 51% subsidiary Cebarco-WCT W.L.L had signed the agreement with Majid Al Futtaim Investments L.L.C of Dubai .The contract works include the construction, completion and maintenance of the Bahrain City Centre in Manama, Bahrain, it said

3.The Employees Provident Fund is one of the possible financiers for the government to undertake the development projects under the Ninth Malaysian Plan, deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Husin said. He said there were interested parties, both locally and internationally, that are keen to provide financing to Malaysia to cover the budget deficits arising from the expenditure under the 9MP but the government would only seek funds domestically to finance its development projects. Among the options available are to tap into the high liquidity in the market through bonds issue and also through the EPF.Meanwhile, he said the government would announce projects under the Public Finance Initiative before year-end.

4.Southern Bank Bhd (SBB) will be deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Large 30 Index following its acquisition by Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings from the start of trading on July 12, 2006.Moving up from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index and replacing SBB in the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Large 30 Index will be EON Capital, with a shares in issue total of 693.209 million and an investability weighting of 40 per cent.In a statement Monday, Bursa Malaysia said replacing EON Capital in the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index will be KFC Holdings, the retail food company.They will be added to the index with a shares in issue total of 198.275 million and an investability weighting of 100 per cent. KFC Holdings will be deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Small Cap Index.

5.Scomi Engineering Bhd has completed its takeover of Mtrans Transportation Systems Sdn Bhd after acquiring 51 percent of Mtrans' issued and paid-up share capital for RM30 million.With the acquisition of the 13.26 million ordinary shares of RM1.00 each in Mtrans, Scomi Engineering has exponentially increased its manufacturing capacity to include the 22-acre factory in Rawang Industrial Zone owned by Mtrans.Mtrans brings to the company its proven technology in the design and manufacture of urban transportation systems such as bus and monorail systems as well as special purpose vehicles.

6.Frontken Corp will make its debut on the Mesdaq market of the Malaysian stock exchange today.

7.Ingress Corp is in talks with two potential merger partners in Malaysia as it seeks to boost growth, the Bernama news agency reported late yesterday, citing the
company's Executive Vice Chairman Rameli Musa.The partners weren't identified. Ingress is also in talks with two companies in New Delhi and Mumbai to tap the Indian market, Rameli was cited as saying. Ingress, which plans to spend as much as 50 million ringgit ($13.7 million) on capital expenditure this year, said sales may
grow more than 30 percent in the year ending January 2007 from 289.7 million ringgit last year, Rameli was cited as saying.

8.MBf Corp said it has completed the sale of its entire stake in MIFC Credit & Leasing Sdn. for 15,000 ringgit to Permai Mas Sdn.

9.Mudajaya Group Bhd, the Malaysian engineering and construction group said its Mudajaya Corp. unit has won a RM26m contract to construct and complete steam
turbine works at the Jimah coal-fired power plant in Negeri Sembilan.The project is scheduled for completion by September 2007.

10.Plenitude Bhd said its Sin Yik Development Sdn. unit plans to purchase three parcels of freehold land in Penang from La Mer Feringghi Sdn. for 26 million ringgit. The purchase is an opportunity for the company to ``replenish its land bank in prime location'' in Penang, it said.
11.Tanjung Offshore Bhd said its Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn. unit has won an 8 million ringgit contract to supply engineering equipment package for the second phase of the Miri Crude Oil Terminal project.Works are expected to be completed by January 2007.
